Today students learned about:
Naming of Binary Ionic Compounds
Steps to write the formula:
1.Write the name of the cation first with the appropriate charges( as superscript) and then anion
2. Criss-cross the charges
3. write the formula ( chages as subscript)
Nomenclature:
1. write the name of the cation first as it is
2. write the name of the anion ending with -ide
Ex: NaCl-Sodium Chloride
